The Path Through the Meadow

A path through a meadow rarely reveals itself all at once.

It curves behind a rise. It disappears into taller grass. From where you're standing, you can usually see only the next stretch of it, and nothing beyond that, no matter how badly you'd like a preview of the whole route.

Most of us want more certainty than that before we're willing to move.

We want to see the destination clearly before we take the first step. We want proof it will work out before we're willing to try. But trust was never meant to require the whole map. It only ever required enough visibility to take the next step honestly.

The meadow does not owe you the entire view. It only owes you the ground directly beneath your feet, and that is usually enough to actually walk on.

This is true of most of the paths that matter, not just the literal ones. The relationship you're not sure how to navigate. The decision you can't fully predict the outcome of. The version of yourself you're slowly becoming, without a guarantee of how it turns out.

You are allowed to walk without full visibility. You are allowed to trust the next few steps without demanding certainty about the whole journey.

The path through the meadow has always worked this way. Enough shows itself for today. Tomorrow, a little more will reveal itself, the same as it always has.
