A tree never asks how much longer it will take to grow.
It simply grows, ring by ring, season by season, mostly out of sight, beneath bark that never once explains itself to anyone passing by.
The growth you cannot see
You cannot see a tree growing. Not really. Stand and watch one for an hour and nothing will appear to change. And yet, come back in a year, and it will be undeniably taller, steadier, more rooted than before.
This is how most real growth actually happens. Not in a single visible leap, but in thousands of quiet, invisible moments that only add up to something noticeable much later.
Why we struggle to wait
We are not always so patient with ourselves.
We want to see the proof today. We want the healing to be finished, the habit fully formed, the confidence completely built, all on a timeline that makes sense to a mind that is tired of waiting. But trees were never in a hurry, and somehow they still become forests.
What a tree knows about bending
A tree also knows something about resilience that is easy to forget. It bends in the wind instead of resisting it outright. Storm after storm, it survives not by refusing to move, but by being flexible enough to sway without breaking.
There is real trust required to grow like a tree grows โ trusting the unseen roots even when the visible progress is slow, trusting the seasons even during the ones that look like nothing is happening at all.
Let it be enough, for today
If your own growth feels invisible right now, that does not mean it isn't real. Somewhere beneath the surface, in the parts of you no one else can see, the rings may still be quietly forming.
Trust that. Let it be enough, for today, that something in you is still growing, even without proof.
